MON Water employs two types of meters in its system: Mueller and Neptune meters. Meter readings commence around the 17th of each month and take approximately five days to complete. The utility uses automatic meter reading (AMR) technology, which involves radio-reading the meters. A radio transmitter sends the reading from the meter to a receiver in a service vehicle. The radio signal contains the meter's unique identification number and its measurement, which are then used to generate the utility bill.
